LUSH REVIEW: "THE EXPERIMENTER BATH BOMB"

October 11, 2015

Happy Sunday evening everyone! I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend and aren't dreading the week ahead too much. Remember to think positively ahead and go into the week feeling good, trust me it will go by much faster!

Today, I'm going to present to you my review of Lush's "The Experimenter" bath bomb.
This particular product first caught my eye after I visited the Lush in Dublin the day that the new range of products came in. However I was slightly reluctant to try it because of the smell (but more on that later), but after seeing so many posts of it and videos showing it in the water, I couldn't resist giving it a try for myself!

LOOKS:

The colours of the bath bomb are so incredibly vivid and impressive. They are probably what intrigued me and finally enticed me to buy the bath bomb. There is also lots of glitter spread throughout the surface of the bath bomb - a total win!

Overall; 10/10

SCENT:

Spicy is definitely a word that can summarise the smell of this bath bomb. At first sniff it reminds me of something slightly festive, but very strong. However, the scent is initially what put me off of the bath bomb because it can be quite overpowering and it was just too much for me. The more you delve though, the more you discover the hints of vanilla and popping candy that come through to add a sweeter, softer edge to it.  Definitely perfect for the darker, colder nights and the autumn feeling that's lingering in the air right now!

Overall: 6/10

 IN THE BATH:

Immediately you can see the intense, incredible colours that materialise as soon as the bath bomb becomes emerged in the water. Every possible colour and shade can be seen and this is definitely one of the most spectacular displays I've ever seen.
Eventually the colours begin to pale down and blend to form the end colour but they are still incredible nonetheless.

Overall: 9/10

THE FINAL RESULT:

All the colours blend together to create this silver / grey which is added to by the huge amount of glitter hidden in the water. Although it isn't visible in the pictures, the water has a slightly metallic magenta that makes the water look mysterious and magical. The colour fades to be quite translucent and milky but I think it makes for an interesting end result to a spectacular show!

Overall: 8/10

PROS: Visually the bath bomb is aesthetically pleasing and utterly beautiful and makes the most incredible patterns in the bath, definitely one of my favourites in that respect! Although I am not fond of the scent, it lingers on the skin for hours afterwards so if you are a fan that's an added bonus!

CONS: The colour at the end isn't totally stunning and some of the colour stained my skin! And of course the smell but you could always enjoy it, you never know!

OVERALL: The Experiment is a truly enchanting creation with explosive, beautiful colours and a dynamic, original element for everyone to enjoy. This bath bomb definitely lives up to its rave reviews and thoroughly deserves all the success it has accumulated. The Experiment is an enigma and one incredible product.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this review. I will be back soon with more posts that I hope you will enjoy.

Until then, stay positive,
Rachel x
