"DO NOT COMPUTE" SWEATER REVIEW

October 14, 2015

Hey everyone! I hope you're all having a good week so far and are keeping bright and positive.

As promised, today I am going to bring you a quick review of a sweater I won from Magic Period in a give away they recently held! I just wanted to give you guys a brief review of all the aspects to it in a neutral and unbiased way, as I try to do with any review I post for you all. I feel that I should state that this is in no way a sponsored review, I have no previous affiliations or dealings with Magic Period, I just simply wanted to let you all know my thoughts on the product I've received!

Now let's get down to it. Firstly, here is a picture of the jumper I received.

QUALITY:
As you can see, the sweater is quite similar to the one sold by LazyOaf, I don't particularly know the ins and outs of how the shops work but in my experience quite often most shops online will order in products from wholesale stores like aliexpress. I don't know it that is the case here but I felt like I should get that out of the way first as I know a lot of people will probably look at this jumper and think of LazyOaf.

Anyhow, the colour of the product is a little paler than advertised in the pictures you can see on the stores website, however I know that camera quality etc can affect how a product looks in real life, and to me it isn't significant enough of a difference to really complain. The material is a lot thinner than I expected, however the jumper is still very warm and cosy and you can easily wear another shirt beneath it.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the quality of the jumper, asides from a few loose threads, which I just snipped off with a pair of scissors, there were really no huge issues with the product as a whole.

PATTERN:

Here is a close up of the pattern on the sweater;

I absolutely adore the pattern of the jumper, I love the black and white against the pink and the geometric shapes really give it an edge. The quality of the pattern is consistent, there were no unexpected holes in the print, which can tend to happen in products where the pattern has been printed on. As of yet I haven't washed the jumper (don't judge me, it's just been in the wash basket for a while because my dad wants to hand wash it and he's lazy), so I will update this section if there are any changes after washing.

SHIPPING:
Initially I won the jumper in the summer, and it only arrived to me last week. It took a little while for the product to get shipped out to me but once it did it took about two weeks to get here. Aside from that little blip at the beginning, everything arrived promptly and safely! I can completely understand why it took a while, as a small business it's easy to get caught up with orders and things, and I'm a pretty laid back person so I'm more than happy to wait!

DURABILITY:

I wore the jumper to uni and was comfortable all day! It kept me warm with the breeze but cooled me down with the sun and that's something I really look for in an outfit this time of year. I styled it with my mom jeans (a look that will be featured in Saturday's post!) and they came up to just where the jumper finished.

Now there is a method in my awkward pose in picture 1, the reason being that the only problem I have with the jumper is that it rides up quite easily when you reach your arms up. Whenever I tired back my hair or put my hand up in class I exposed my tummy and had the fear that I might expose a little bit more if I reached too high. That makes me come to the conclusion that the jumper is definitely more a late summer nights / spring day time piece of clothing.

Overall, I am very happy with my prize, I love the jumper. I know it won't be to a lot of people's tastes and it might be a bit too garish but that's why I like it. The colour and pattern a bold, they make a statement. I think it's good quality, it's comfortable and at $25 (£16) plus free shipping, the price is equal to what I would spend on a jumper on the high street. Asides from a couple of loose threads and the issue of how cropped the jumper actually is, I think it's a great product that has certainly brightened up my wardrobe this autumn.

I got a lot of compliments on it and that makes me like it even more. I want to say a huge big thank you to Magic Period and to you guys for sticking with me!

Lots of love,
Rachel
